Christmas Eve Family "Barn Service"-- without the Barn!
11am, 1pm, 4pm, 6pm
After six Christmases of offering community Christmas Eve Family Barn Services at Zimmerman's Kill Creek Farm Barn in DeSoto, Kaw Prairie this year the service is hosting the memory-building service at its new building! Why? Because the historic barn (left) was leveled in a spring tornado this year; nothing remains but the foundation, the sign, and the WPA-era outhouse! While Mr. Zimmerman is raising funds to rebuild this community treasure, Kaw Prairie is keeping the Christmas tradition alive--and contributing to the cause--by hosting the family-directed Christmas service on our own campus, with a free-will offering at each service to help the Barn Fund grow to the size needed for re-building to begin!
Like every year, the family-friendly service includes Christmas Carols, a fun 3-act nativity play that will delight children and amuse adults, and yet conclude with a solemn and joyful candle-lighting and singing of Silent Night. Services are at 11am & 1pm and 4pm & 6pm. It'll be just like at the barn, except your feet won't be cold, your car won't get caught in a snowdrift, and the restroom isn't an outhouse built during the depression! See you then--and remember your offering for DeSoto's Rebuild the Barn Fund!
