What to expect
A CHURCH FOR EVERYONE
We believe the church should be a community where everyone is welcome, and where invitations to join are heartfelt and eager. Regardless of who you are, where you’re from, or what your life’s looked like, you’ll be welcomed the moment you walk in the door—and if you let us, loved on just a little bit, too.
CONNECTING TO SOMETHING BIGGER
We’re a community made up people with individual and family stories, but our collective story is part of something much bigger: the Kingdom of God, where there is life, and life to the full. We’re passionate about helping people get connected to one another, and even more, to the heart of a God who loves them deeply.
A TIMELESS COMMUNITY
While Kaw Prairie has a casual-on-the-outside vibe, our values and mission are anchored in the age-old, living faithfulness of God. Holy communion is open to anyone who feels the Holy Spirit calling them to trust Jesus, and it’s that weekly ‘meal’ that feeds us for being the church in the world outside that Jesus died to save.

TYPICAL ORDER OF SERVICE
MUSIC AT KAW PRAIRIE
Like the Christians who came before us, we worship using the language of our culture — melodies, rhythms, images, and lyrics. A majority of the music at Kaw Prairie is contemporary, but it’s quieter and acoustic during communion. We sing songs by artists like Hillsong, Hillsong United, Bethel Music, Rend Collective, David Crowder, Chris Tomlin, and many others.
Of course, because of our connection to the Lutheran and Presbyterian churches (and our love of history), you may hear an occasional hymn thrown into the mix!
Whether you’re a long-time Christ follower or you’re new to the faith, our hope is that the music you experience at Kaw Prairie will help lead you to a place where you can feel that you are God’s beloved, and where you can hear with clarity is promise of new life in Jesus Christ.
What about my kids?
Children start in worship with their families, then are dismissed to KP Kids for age- and stage-appropriate learning. We offer nursery through preschool (3 year olds) care for the entire service if you prefer. But all ages are welcome in worship as we praise God, pray together, and take Communion each week.
Please stop by one of the three check-in stations before going into worship. We use an electronic check-in system with name tags for safety and to alert teachers to any allergies or special needs.
