 ONE KC at Kaw Prairie

Experience the Gospel this Lent

ONE KC

What is ONE KC?

Kaw Prairie said YES to helping bring hope and good news through our city-wide ONE KC campaign. Hundreds of churches across Kansas City will be collectively engaging with the Bible for the 40 days during Lent, saturating our city in the truth of the gospel.

ONE Listening Plan

On March 2 we will begin listening to all four New Testament gospels via the YouVersion Bible App’s “ONE 2022” Bible plan. Make sure you’ve downloaded the app and found the plan. Each day’s segment is about 10 minutes. Listen during your regular quiet time, while you eat breakfast, drive to work, or take a walk! Make it part of your daily rhythm.

ONE Study Groups

ONE Study Groups

Join us at Kaw Prairie on Wednesdays at 7pm during Lent as we gather together to eat snacks, watch a high-quality short video of one of the miracles of Jesus, and break into small groups to discuss what we watched. (For those unable to meet in person, there will be an online group that meets on Thursdays.)

ONE Message Series

Everybody knows Jesus. Right? I mean, nearly everyone has heard about Jesus, but do we really know who Jesus is? Join us on Sunday mornings at 10am — in person or online — as we explore Jesus' "I Am" statements in the Gospel of John.

Weekly Prayer Prompts

We believe in prayer! Each Monday throughout Lent, we will be sending out an email that includes prayer prompts for that week.

History of ONE KC

In March 2019, 300 churches in Hong Kong began a movement. The churches came together behind a common experience for Lent (the 40 days leading up to Easter). They called it ONE. Their united goal was to saturate their city with the good news of Jesus. During this six-week season, thousands of people listened to the entire Gospel of Luke and the Book of Acts through a Bible listening app called Bible.is. The result? Countless testimonies of life transformations and many coming to know Jesus!

The impact was so great, that they repeated the experience in 2020, and are now expanding the movement of church unity across international borders. The Hong Kong churches invited Kansas City to participate with them for Lent 2021.

The challenge was set: partner with hundreds of local, diverse churches to teach the good news of Jesus from the book of John on the weekends and encourage 300,000 people to listen to the Gospels of Matthew, Luke and John in their native languages during the week and meet together with friends one day each week to watch and listen together to the Gospel of John on a video platform.

Centered in the middle of the United States, Kansas City is one of the most diverse cities in the country – in fact, an estimated 65 languages are spoken among children in metro area schools. The world has come to our city, bringing with it a tremendous kingdom opportunity.
